Garmin Zumo 660 Help

How to split the audio channels on the Garmin Zumo 660

It is often asked if it is possible to transmit audio over wired earphones, but use a Bluetooth headset at the same time for purposes of mobile calls. This is indeed possible. (zümo Firmware 3.3)
To accomplish this, do the following:
1.   Pair the zümo 660 to your Bluetooth headset and your mobile phone.
2.   Plug the earphones (or intercom) into the audio out plug of the motorcycle mount’s harness.
3.   Next, set the zümo 660 up as follows:
On the Main Menu, press the Volume button.
Depending on what the current settings are, you will be presented with one of two possible screens. You will either get this one:

If you see the screen above, it means your zümo is already setup to transmit audio over the wired audio output of the motorcycle mount’s harness. Audio Volume is adjusted with the zümo’s volume controls and if the Mixer button is pressed, you will be able to tweak the different volumes:

The second possible screen you could see after pressing the Volume button on the Main Menu, is this one:

If you see the screen above, it means your zümo is set to output all audio over the Bluetooth headset. The master audio volume is adjusted with the volume control of the Bluetooth headset, but the relationship between the volumes can still be set with the Mixer:

To change the audio output, press the Audio Output button at the bottom of the Volume page (See first and third screenshots above), which will bring up the following screen:

Headphone : All audio, apart from that of the Mobile phone, is transmitted over the wired audio output plug of the harness (earphones). (NB. If the zümo is not in the motorcycle mount, this option will be “Internal Speaker” and not “Headphone”.)
Phone audio is transmitted over Bluetooth and music over the earphone is muted during calls.
Bluetooth Headset: All audio will be transmitted via Bluetooth.

Important to note that (probably due to a bug) the volume over the wired output, significantly drops (I would guess about 30%) when the headset Bluetooth connection is established between the zümo and the Bluetooth headset.

Interestingly enough, these settings are not available on the BMW Navigator IV. With the BMW Navigator IV, all audio is transmitted via Bluetooth. If the BMW Navigator IV is mounted in the zümo 660 mount, you can get audio from the audio output socket of the zümo 660’s harness, but all audio will be transmitted over the wired earphones, even that of the mobile phone. On the BMW Navigator IV, the audio can in other words not be split between wired earphones and Bluetooth headset.
